Blossom Tree Campsite
Off-Grid Northwest was tasked with creating an entirely off-grid electrical supply for a campsite/touring park in the heart of the Lancashire countryside. Connection to the District Network (DNO) was not financially viable due to its remote location. Working closely with our client, we were able to successfully specify a PV (photo voltaic) battery storage solution to satisfy their requirements. Off-Grid Northwest used industry leading software to calculate the load requirements for each camping pitch, touring pitch and LED lighting illuminating access routes throughout the campsite. This resulted in an accurate costing of materials and also a forecast of energy to be generated. With LPG supplying the boiler to provide heating and shower facilities to the amenity block we were able to keep the power system to a lower specification, saving our client from substantial additional costs for equipment required to supply such large loads. Off-Grid Northwest has designed this installation to operate: LED Lighting, Gas boiler ignition and pump, 4 x Touring caravan pitches to 10Amps, 25 x camping pitches to 2Amps supplying phone and laptop charge points. The system also benefits from a 20KVA diesel back-up generator which automatically starts up should the power from the batteries drop below a set threshold on cloudy days. Great care was taken to discreetly position the generator to minimise noise and disruption to campers enjoying the tranquil surroundings. EQUIPMENT INSTALLED: - Victron 15000Va inverter/charger - 12000Wp of JA Solar panels - Victron smart solar charge controller with built in Bluetooth - 12Kw of Batteries
